| (English:) In 1994 Saskia formed her Saskia Laroo Band originally called The Laroo Colour and recorded her first album It's Like Jazz. This debut CD is her take on acid-jazz where she was inspired to follow the concept of Miles Davis Doo-Bop. Saskia Laroo creates new styles, which are described as new jazz or swinging body music. Saskia 's concept is borne of years playing, experimenting, grooving. She combines various music styles such as jazz, pop, dance and world and cultures in a way as if they always meant to be together. The Saskia Laroo Band, a multi-national unit pulsating with contemporary sounds and the power of the ages rife with groovy rhythms, exciting solos, and kickin' rap vocals. This funky formation plays songs from Saskia's new jazzfunk album Really Jazzy as well as from her debut album It 's Like Jazz and her second dance jazz CD Bodymusic. |

| (Nederlands:) De Amsterdamse trompetiste Saskia Laroo richtte haar Saskia Laroo Band op in 1994 met de release van haar eerste album “It ’s Like Jazz”. Met deze debuut CD gaf ze haar visie op acid jazz, geinspireerd door het concept van het laatste Miles Davis album Doo-bop. Saskia Laroo houdt ervan om nieuwe muziekstijlen te creeren die beschreven kunnen worden als new-jazz of swinging bodymusic. Saskia ‘s concept is een resultaat van jarenlange optreedervaring met experiment en groove. Ze combineert verschillende muziekstijlen zoals jazz, pop, dance en wereldmuziek en culturen op een manier alsof ze altijd bij elkaar gehoord hebben.
