 In 1994, borne of Saskia's multi-cultural musical experience, her penchant for experimentation, and her hopes to encourage human diversity, the Saskia Laroo Band would be the vehicle for the works of her first CD ever, It's Like Jazz and her exploration of the musical concepts of Miles Davis from his album Doo- Bop. Continuing to expand her artistic vision, this project now features a multi-national personnel and a contemporary mix of propulsive music; the soul of the ages meets catharsis through driving rhythms, powerful rap, and poignant solos.  In 1994 werd uit Saskia's ervaring met multiculturele muziek, haar liefde voor het experimenteren met verschillende stijlen en haar enthousiasme voor culturele diversiteit de Saskia Laroo Band geboren. Deze band maakte - en maakt - het haar niet alleen mogelijk de composities van haar allereerste cd It 's like Jazz optimaal uit te voeren, maar ook voort te borduren op muzikale concepten die voor het eerst gestalte kregen op sommige van Miles Davis' latere werken, zoals Doo-bop. Terwijl het Saskia de gelegenheid biedt haar muzikale visie voortdurend verder uit te diepen, presenteert zij met dit project een multinationale bezetting en een hedendaagse mix van stuwende muziek: een oergevoel dat van alle tijden is komt op een bevrijdende wijze tot uitdrukking via onweerstaanbare ritmes, krachtige rap en intense solo's.
