Latin jazz is one of the most appealing jazz music styles for years and this is the style which was a huge influence for Saskia.
Before forming Salsabop Saskia was already experienced in Latin jazz playing with different bands playing several kinds of Caribbean, Latin and Afro music such as calypso, cumbia, salsa, merengue, soca, kaseko.
Salsabop is a mixture of funk, soul and jazz dance where the swinging rhythm section with a high percentage of groove melts with the clear and warm sound of Saskia Laroo trumpet. The quintet consists of talented and versatile musicians who keep up with the newest developments in Latin, Caribbean and Afro beats.
Salsabop has played in Helsinki Latin Festival headlining with the major Cuban bands, festivals in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland; clubs, theatres and private events. |
